Oh, hey there!

Had you asked a younger me what I would be doing at this point in life, photography would not have been on the list. The "plan" was to be a trauma flight nurse in Nashville. I was well on my way when, boy, God showed me He had other plans in store! Through a funny string of events, I met my now-husband, Alex, moved to sunny Florida, got married, and then experienced THE moment in which my dreams and perception of life forever changed—the moment I held my son for the first time.

In an instant, the fragility, sacredness, and utter beauty of life became almost palpable. It was as if from that moment on, I've been able to witness an engaged couple's giddiness, a baby's sweet yawn, and a parent's admiration and love for their child with a deeper appreciation for what those experiences are-pure gifts from our Heavenly Father.

I found myself behind the camera in those first few months, trying to soak up every wrinkle, smile, and milestone of our little one. We had numerous friends with new babies who I was also taking pictures for and voila—Leah Rue Photography was formed. I may not be currently practicing as a nurse but I still get an up-close and personal view of people's lives. It's just through a different "lens".
